This took a lot longer than I thought it would for a 'quick and dandy' drawing... oh well.

; an awesome artist whose drawing skills are almost exceeded by his writing!
I have been following his Spyro the Dragon fan-fiction, Age of Heroes, since near the beginning, he was only a few chapters into the first one I think. I tend to be a fan who reads and says little, I'm terrible for that. So I thought I would kick myself and draw something to show how much I enjoy his work seeing as it has been a year and three (going on four) books since he started.
Basically the picture was inspired by a scene in book IV of the story, when a black dragon named Certo comes into a dragon cityafter being brutally attacked by apes. He is treated as a lesser creature, in a way which is reminiscent of discrimination against ethnic minorities in human society. He is a so-called 'feral dragon', born and raised outside of the city, the city dragons believe that he is 'brutal' and 'doesn't understand their way of life', when in fact the only thing he doesn't understand is how to use their form of writing. In fact Certo seems to have his moral priorities in a much more favourable order than the city dragons, but the majority are blinded by their corrupt guardians' belief in a prophecy which involves a black dragon.
Because of how he is treated, and because of his past, Certo is very withdrawn and prefers to keep to himself; though, after a shaky start, he seems to enjoy the company of Maya, the youngest child of the family he is staying with. Maya is my favourite character and although there are other sweet scenes involving her, my favourite was when, one morning, she decided she wanted to eat a melon for breakfast. The fruit was obviously too big for her but being the youngling she is, she was insistant. Then, to everyone's surprise, Certo cuts the melon in half, taking half for himself and leaving the other for Maya.
I thought it would be cute if Maya decided to take another melon for Certo to eat one morning, though how the heck she would get it to him is beyond me, and Certo seems to agree with me! XD
