Twinkle-Eyed Ponies: Pegasi

I'm not ashamed to admit that was once a fan of My Little Pony. In fact, those who saw my Journal entry a while back will know that me and my sister owned tonnes of the Hasbro toys.
Looking back, I'm not sure what the draw was for me; the human characters are annoying as all hell and only about half a dozen of the pony characters have likeable personalities. But there is one thing that I still love, and that is the look of the ponies themselves.

I don't really know how to go about describing it, but the designs of the ponies - at least to me - were so much better back then. I also very much prefer the names of the ponies too. Friendship is Magic isn't actually too bad of a show as there are some moments that genuinely make me laugh. But EVERYTHING about bloody Twilight Sparkle annoys the crap out of me...

ANYWAY.

The best thing about the original ponies were the 'Twinkle-Eyed Ponies'. Quite literally, their pupils and iris' were gemstones which, when animated, had a distinct 'twinkle' on close-ups which gave them their name.
